Inspiration

Lay within me....
wonder why i chose to look elsewhere

Restart ....

Where was I

i have been wondering... where was i
lost?
meandering?
or just plain socked by Inertia

well, now that i am trying to unravel the cobwebs from my mind.. i find i have lived.. lived a life beyond these pages, done a lot... changed a lot, made friends, lost some, survived, celebrated.

but , the point is ... who cares. Who cares what i do with my life except the people who make it a point to be a part of my life. And well, they are the ones i care about.

So, here i am, back to writing, what i do best, observing, mentoring, and challenging myself to newer goals.

Visited my blog after ages, and realised how you give up one thing you love for another.... thing, person, place, time... after all, the spaces in your life as just about so much, finite . The opportunities are Infinite.

But what do we do, we ignore the Infinite, and take care of the Finite. WHY?

The finite is there.... reality, you can see and feel and live it.... and seems more permanent. Atleast to our foolish minds. The Infinite.... is a dream, is something you think you Can... with a pause on the Can... and you ignore it till it can no longer be ignored.

So now, all you finite meanderings and pauses in my life, here i go.. searching for my Infinite...

Life has given me a new page to write on ... as this blog gives me each day.

Changes

I am happy that life keeps changing.
Making me unsure of its ways, and egging me on.
The inert person that I am
Life keeps me on my toes;
Pushing newer bars..
Yes, those ones too!

Questions

I have this inherent knack to ask questions
For which
a) Answers are not forthcoming
b) Answers are not politically correct
c) Responder does not deem to respond.

When will i learn to keep my lips sealed?

The Missing Ed!

This friend of mine called Ed
Has disappeared and i see red
You see he had a hold on me
And kept me from all baloney
As he is gone.. i'm going mad
And you can see, a wee bit sad
He keeps me sane and happy
And not idiotic and flappy.
As he is gone i am all stuck
Have run out of writer's luck
I cannot rhyme, I cannot verse
I cannot sing a tune adverse
I think i can no longer write
In my tongue, for all my might

So dear Ed, wherever are you
Come back soon.. a poem's due
And let me write my verse in peace
And drum up my old expertise
Come back soon so i may write
And spare me this sorry plight!!
Oh yes  let this be said
His first name's Brain
The middle Heart.
Brain Heart Ed, that's all.

The Chicken and The Egg

Who came first....
The tortoise won the race.
The early worm got caught by the early bird.
No one had the time to sow. So there was not a thing to reap.
In a world fulll of people who rush about, harried and worried..do any of the adages we heard in our growing up years, hold any value?

Love and Marriage

So many years of married life..
Am sure there is a lot of love ..
Under the pillow..
In the nooks and crannies of my house..
Where i have forgotten to look.
There is lots of love
Floating all around
In our attitudes
In our approach
To each other.
There is a lot of love
In the home that we built
Together
Step by step
Brick by brick
Year over year
Which has to be
Religiously
Watered and Pruned
and tended to
Lovingly.

As with other things
We now are accustomed
To see each other
To talk to each other
To know each other
To hide from each other
To face each other
As and when we need to
As and when we feel like
As and when "time permits"
As and when!!

In this "As and When"
and "Whenever"
We have forgotten
The "Here and Now"
That was so there
Then!

Not my ditty (but oh it is!) ... but of another lady, even more witty!

Magnetic

An Old Love Story

Yes..right... my love for food.

Food Consumes Me.

December

Was a dry month!
No wine to keep me going and rambling!
No fuel... No go!
Policy Decision.

Trust

Knocks.
Will She Open the Door ?
That she has steadfastly kept closed since eternity...
I hope and pray.

A Foolish Heart

"Oh..... XYZ has a foolish heart!!! "
I just heard that..being whispered behind someone's back.
A Foolish Heart?
Why should a heart which trusts, believes, loves, cares, nourishes and cherishes be termed as Foolish?
Is it such a crime in Today's World?
Or do these qualities now belong to the yonder years, and these words and qualities, relegated to the dustbin associated with "Modern Living"?

Cities

I have recently been travelling... .
Each time i go to a new city, i find that it does not smell like this Capital city i live in.
Each city has it own smell... something which adds to its character.
Chennai has a salty, grassy, musical smell. And yes... idli, sambhar and chutney. And fragrant Filter Coffee. And Mallipoo.
Kochi smells of rain and money. And of Avial and Mutton ishtew. And Coconut.
Kolkata smells of ...well.... many things... food, calm, dance, rhythm. And of Chicken Kalia, Doi Machh, Sorshe Ilish Bata and Mustard Oil. And Jhalmuri and Puchkas.
Mumbai, my beloved, smells of activity , bustle, and yes, the ubiquitous vada-pav. And Bhelpuri.
Agra... the must visit for people in love (so i hear so often) of Petha, muck and Horses.
Mathura, of incense.. as also Tanjore and Mysore.
I am still on this long travel itinerary... led by the travel plan, and followed by my nose.
It is strange how i associate the smell of certain dishes with a certain place, or a certain person. Each time i think of a friend of my Ma, i always think of Ponds Dreamflower Talc. And another, with the smell of chopsuey. And another favourite aunt, with the smell of jaggery and coconut laddus. Ah well, for a foodie, the list is long. But now, even with the years passing by, the habit of associating smells with places and people hasn't left me.

My journey continues, and so does the habit of labelling each city by its smell.

Walking

Walking is good for the health.
I WALK
Away from bad situations
Away from awful people
Away from some @###$^% scenarios
Away from cuss words
Away from people who have an axe to grind
Away from innumerable scenes
That go on and on in rewind.
"Running Away, Ehh??'
What?
But I walk.
Where is this Running bit
Coming in from?

I am still walking
No improvement in health
There is no Escaping AT ALL
From That.

Ostriches

Are found here too..
Sticking their heads in sand
And hiding there
In the hope
That The Wind
The Rain
And The Great Hurricane
Will leave them by
Without any Pain
And whizz by
Without a fuzz
On their
Stuck Out Bottoms.
Hope and Foolishness
Never die!

Temptations

At times
I am tempted
To Cheat
On my Diet
On my Resolutions
On the Numerous Convulations
On the Number of Revolutions
On the Perambulations
On the Premblememblemations
On the Procrastinations
And get out of this game
Of Rules and Regulations!

Hallucinations and Wanderings of the Mind

Do they happen to everyone,

Sniff .... Snort??????

Chocolate Sundae

My Chocolatey Chocolicious Chocomanic Sundae
Has to be Imported.
Duty Free.
Hersheys and Lindt
Cadbury's and whatever.
Unfortunately,
there is no "Offer of the Day"
In Duty Free
I wish there was a better way to say this word.
नहीं, नहीं, कभी नहीं.....!!!
perhaps!!

Sometimes, even seven languages fall short.
Maybe a hammer will help !! :)
